Activities:

Legisltative Fly-In, link to ASCE website for this activity:  David Devine attended this event in March 2010.  Jared Huss attended this event in 200x.  Eduardo Calderin attended this event in 200x. 

Report from 2010 attendee:

I attended The 2010 Legislative Fly-In in Washington, D.C. from 23 to 25 March. 

The main issues for this event this year were

-         Convey how infrastructure investment supported jobs

-         FAA Reauthorization, H.R. 915 and support for an increase in PFC limit, (passenger facility charge)

-         A six year reauthorization for a surface transportation bill

-         The Dam Rehabilitation and Repair Act, H.R. 1770/S. 732

-         Water Infrastructure Financing Act, S. 1005

ASCE Government Relations Department staff arranged meetings for me.  I met with the following:

-         LeAnn Gibbs, Projects Director in the Office of Senator Lugar,

-         Daniel Broom, Legislative Assistant from the Office of Senator Bayh, and

-         Adarsh Mantravadi, Legislative Assistant from the Office of Representative Souder
